Cesar Chiquito


César Chiquito (1994) Afro-descendant director, photographer and screenwriter from Veracruz. His work is identified by a mainly self-referential narrative style and by highlighting gender perspective topics. César has directed video clips in the indie scene and documentary series as "Amor y Amistad” (Love and Friendship) at Canal Once. Nominated for "Best Music Video" at the 2022 Pantalla de Cristal Festival for the video clip "Sigo Viva" (I’m still alive). His first documentary short film "Machos" was part of the official selection of Ambulante and MIC Género. Currently he directs Little Bros, his own production house; he is also a teacher at the Mexican Association of Independent Filmmakers (AMCI), and is a student of the writing specialization course at the Mexican Writers Association (SOGEM). His most recent documentary creation, “The Last Round”, received the SACPC 2021 – 2022 Young Creators award (formerly FONCA). The project “Till we Find them” where he participated as a photographer and co-producer, was the winner of the bronze medal at the Student Academy Awards 2023. (Student Oscars).
