The eternal feast

The eternal feast | sep’s, embassy of time | CHAPTER | TEASER

Synopsis

The time between the World Wars was cruel for Europe. The Great Depression had European countries in abject poverty.

The Soviet Revolution changed the geographical landscape, and new nation states emerged while others disappeared annexed to more powerful ones.

Germany particularly suffered the humiliation of defeat. The great territory bordering France and Germany, Alsace, once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, became French.

In the midst of chaos, many families escaped to make “La America”, Joseph Feyermuth managed to get out between the two wars and established in Mexico a restaurant that eventually became a classic.

Sep’s is one of the few “bon vivants” restaurants in Mexico City where politicians, artists, businessmen, creatives and bohemians have spent eighty years in this “Embassy of Time”.
